Christmas card 2015

Once more, even though I’ve been pretty busy, I found the time to design, print, write and send my Christmas Cards. Some of them have already arrived to its destination. It’s a tradition that I would like to keep alive since there’s not much more mail that arrives home that’s personal and that puts a smile on your face, so that’s what I try to do once a year, put a smile on the faces of my friends and loved ones. So if you are one of them and you received yours, please take a picture and post it in Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #merryxmasdressink and of course tag me @dressink so I can see it!

This time I used this icons I found for free, I like simple patterns and I was looking for something in black and white, so they were just perfect. You can download this design for free here or click on the main image, if you also want to surprise your loved ones with a christmas card 😀

Christmas Wishlist

christmas wish list

It has become a tradition for me to make this wishlist every year. It started as a fun idea to share what I was looking forward to get for christmas, and now it is a must, my parents are already asking… – Are you not making a list this year? And, yes I am, here you go:

  1. Kitchen Aid Artisan in White, it’s been my dream already for many years to have it. This year is not going to happen, since there’s no space for it in my kitchen (don’t want any trouble with my rommie), but it’s still my dream, that’s why it stays my number one in the wishlist.
  2. Google Chromecast to be able to connect my phone and other devices to the TV,  and more 😀
  3. Nexus 9 – Black, 32 GB, LTE my laptop is not going to last forever and I’ve been looking for a solution, maybe this could be it!
  4. There’s no Christmas without a new Pj’s .
  5. I have just the perfect shoes for this leopard clutch, so, destiny?
  6. Rebecca Minkoff Avery bag because I’m looking for a new everyday bag.
  7. Fancying a new nail polish, my favourite and perfect for this season, Chanel’s Rouge Noir.
  8. Because it’s time to say goodbye to my beloved Asos Parka, going for this Zara one.
  9. Looking for a replacement for my long-lost winter beanie, this Carhartt one does the trick for sure!
  10. And last but not least… Grace Vagabond boots, my old ones are sadly falling into pieces…

(It got expensive tho :P)

Spritzgebäck – German Piped Biscuits

This post may be coming a little late, but well, better late than never 😉

While I was at my parents house in Spain, over the holidays, I wanted to do something nice for them since every time I’m there they do everything for me, it’s like being in a Hotel just, 1 million times better. It was the first time in my life that I baked biscuits and if you ask me, it went really well 😀

I chose this kind of german piped butter based biscuits, first because I like butter biscuits and second, they are easier to make, since you don’t have to knead and roll out the dough for cutting out a shape.

Ingredients for arround 60 biscuits

  • 320 gr flour
  • 2 L eggs or 120 gr eggs
  • 250 gr butter
  • 120 gr confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 vanilla pods
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt

Heat up your oven at 180ºC.

In a bowl, first combine the soft butter, confectioners’ sugar and the vanilla pulp to a fluffy mixture.

In another bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and the salt.

Break the eggs into another bowl and just mix them roughly. Pour them step by step, and not all at once, into the Buttery mixture and keep on stirring with the whisk or with your hand mixer on a slow number.

Add the flour mix and mix it to a smooth pastry, don’t over mix it!

Grab a piping bag, place a nr. 10 star nozzle into it and fill your bag with the pastry. Put a baking paper over your baking tray. Squirt the dough into different shapes onto the tray (I, C, S, that’s up to you!), don’t forget to keep some space between them.

Place them in the oven for aprox. 10 minutes. When done, let them cool down.

You can decorate them with some dark molten chocolate just by dipping the ends into it, I didn’t have the time but that would make them just perfect 🙂

Now, enjoy!

My cousin said they were the BEST biscuits he’d EVER tried, I hope you like them too 😉

I plan on printing them tomorrow and start sending them before it’s too late :S Maybe you’ll get one too, who knows 😛

DIY: Christmas Cards

Since living in Germany I started a new tradition, sending Christmas Cards. I never did it before, and actually thought that was a little bit stupid. Now it has become a thing that I really enjoy, even when I just buy them in a shop and send them.

This year I went a little bit overboard and made them myself. It was quite a bit work, and in the end I invested more time than what I first thought, but well they are already arriving to their destinations and making my very much loved ones smile.

Next year I’m definitely doing some again!
